Solar Energy Training Videos

All of the training movies below are narrated in English, the sound is highly compressed for better transmission over the internet and does have some loss of quality although it is completely understandable if you have a good sound system on your computer and you listen carefully. There are presently only two movies on this page, both are given in multiple formats to reach the largest audience with any type computer or connection speed. Reading the instructions will probably be helpful.

How to solder a glycol module together

For this movie, you will need Windows Media Player, Apple Quick Time Player or Real Player. If you use Internet Explorer you should be able to see the media player video (top one) by just clicking on it. If you use Netscape or use Real Player you will probably need to download the rm video unless you have a Quick Time player in your browser. The Quick Time Movie may stream also with a fast connection. If they don't work in streaming to your computer, or you are using a 56k modem or slower, download the file to your computer ( right click on the version of your choice and when the menu appears - use save target as in Internet Explorer or save link as in Netscape ), make note of the folder where you save the movie file and open it with the appropriate player. The media player and quick time movies are probably a little better quality, but all are good quality for Internet streaming videos. All versions are about 8 minutes and are steps needed in the overall installation of an Antifreeze type Solar Water Heater. All will play at quarter screen (320 x240)

This movie is just over ten minutes, 56K modems and slower connections should use the download options at the bottom. If your browser is not configured correctly for Flash 6, you should also use the download versions, follow the directions below. Otherwise, just click on the link directly below - be patient, even fast connections will have a few seconds of pause while the first part of the movie starts streaming to your computer.

If you don't have Macromedia Flash 5 or 6 plug in for your browser - (it's free at Macromedia.com) - or don't wish to install it, download one of the following movies depending on if you use Windows or Mac - Click or right click on the version you wish and save it to a folder on your computer. Double click to open it - these movies have the player built in and should play on any computer of the right type.

If you are curious why there are different formats for these movies, it is because Flash animated movies are much smaller than the video movie formats and the quality is much better - A Flash movie will download five times quicker but movies made from video cameras are better quality in the first formats given above - Windows Media, Quicktime or Real Media.
